VeinWave

What

VeinWave offers immediate gratification because it can eliminate problem veins on contact. You may experience some redness and mild swelling for up to three days following your procedure. For a few weeks, you may notice pinpoint dots over the area of vessels treated, which will gradually fade. The full result can be seen at six weeks, though some results may be seen immediately.

How

A very fine, insulated needle will be pressed gently into the skin above the problem veins, delivering heat to close them immediately. The vessels will then be slowly absorbed by the body over the next few weeks, revealing clearer skin.

When

This 15-minute procedure is an efficient and effective solution for spider and thread-like veins in delicate areas of the body that are not well suited for lasers and other types of vein treatments. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately following treatment, although it is best to avoid hot baths or sun exposure for a week.

Pre-treatment

  • Do not tan or use spray tans during the 30 days before your treatment

  • Do not apply makeup or lotions to the treatment area on the day of the procedure

  • Take over-the-counter pain relievers an hour before your appointment if you are pain-sensitive

Post-Treatment

  • The treated area will appear red and even slightly swollen for up to two days, which is completely normal. Your skin may be slightly itchy, but there should be no significant pain or discomfort.

  • After a couple of days, the treated area may appear flaky or develop scabs. Applying moisturizer can help minimize dryness and improve the appearance of your skin. Avoid tanning and use sunscreen when going out to minimize your risk of hyperpigmentation. Other than that, no special aftercare is needed for this treatment.

  • After a couple of weeks, the thread veins should begin to fade. You may require touch-up treatment in case some of the veins were missed or didn’t respond to initial treatment. Once these veins are gone, they’re gone for good. However, you may develop new spider veins in nearby areas at a later time.
